HER QUIET ESCAPE
A slower way of seeing
Photography, Art & Slow Travel rooted in Kerry
by Evelyn Woodard
After more than 20 years behind the camera — in the fast lane of weddings and portraits — I’ve found myself turning towards something slower.
Her Quiet Escape grew from walking the Kerry coast, noticing tide and light, and creating art grounded in stillness and story.
Through Her Quiet Escape, I now focus on the slower beauty of Kerry — it's seascapes, landscapes, and towns in transition. Alongside my husband Keith, I also curate and share collections built over decades, preserving not just images but memory, heritage, and connection to place.

For over two decades, photography meant movement. I worked in the fast lane — weddings, portraits, always chasing moments as they flew by.
Now, I’m learning a slower rhythm. Photography feels different: less about chasing, more about noticing.
Her Quiet Escape is rooted here in Kerry, in the places where tide and sky blur into each other, and where stillness reveals itself in small details.
It’s also a personal journey — a way of healing, of listening to the sea, and shaping stories into prints, journals, and quiet experiences for those who also want to pause.
